I Pink I Can Bearded Iris
24-36" tall x 18" wide. I Pink I Can Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) is a garden knockout with luscious pink petals, red beards, and deep pink centers. Whether mixed in with other flowers or planted in groups as a focal point, I Pink I Can's easy going nature makes it a flexible player in many settings. At a height of 24-36", it's perfect in a mixed bed, along a path or in a rock garden. With eight flowers per stem, it's an excellent choice for cut flowers. Cut stems in the morning just as the buds are about to open. Keep them out of direct light, and pinch back spent blooms. Bearded Iris are deer and rabbit resistant, hardy growers that are garden essentials. Plant the rhizomes (bulbs) in soil with good drainage (they won't tolerate soggy conditions) in a location with full- to part-sun (at least six hours). Quite drought tolerant once established, keep moderately watered until flowering is completed, afterward less water is required as Bearded Iris are quite drought resistant. Cut back flower stalks when blooming is finished, but keep and enjoy the elegant sword-like foliage.
